How It Went
itav festival 2024
The film festival, with themes based around family, healing from trauma and social mobility, took place on 27th April 2024 at the Science Gallery London.
Over 1000 tickets were booked and over 300 visitors were welcomed to view the films and attend the workshops.
The ITAV brought new audiences to the Science Gallery and to the film festivals, 73% of attendees stating that this was their first film festival. The festival gives voice to young creatives telling stories about black and minoritised people who contradict the mainstream media narratives of these demographics.

ibrahim galadima
director
Ibrahim Galadima is a multifaceted creative. He is a young, first-time director on the #MyScript program (on Bridge The Gap Studios) and also ventures into many other fields:
He’s an actor, currently attending The Brit School; an artist, (going by the name of AcoustiQ), with a song on all main streaming platforms; and I am a musician, specialising in the guitar. He loves to express himself in different forms, which can connect with people in many different ways.
One of his main focuses is telling meaningful and moving stories with all art forms –allowing audiences space to engage with topical issues, in creative ways.

Shantelle is the assistant director of 7 doors. Her creative journey with Bridge the Gap studios has helped her to be open more to creative arts, gain confidence and knowledge about the film industry.
Shantelle has a passion for stories that focus on de-stigmatising mental health struggles for young black people, and also for families –Seven Doors is an opportunity to tackle both.
Being a part of this film has helped her to fulfil this dream, with the hopes that this project can touch people in ways that not every film can.

Michael has experience in various creative art forms including acting, songwriting, and music production. He has been Directing for a year, with the Cost Of Loving being his largest project to date in which he also serves as the co-writer and soundtrack writer.
He's continuing to write, direct and compose future works, and aims to take his filmmaking passion to the pinnacle.
Judah Meade

Judah, a London-based writer and film director, is known for his diverse range of work, spanning comedies to fantasy dramas.
His passion for intimate, character-driven storytelling invites audiences to reflect on morality and the meaning of life. In 2021, he directed 'Twenty-Seven,' a Netflix-funded short film, and followed up with 'The Healer' (2022) in association with Converse and John Boyega, which showcased at the Create Next Film Event.
With a unique and personable style, he has worked in association with Converse, BBC THREE, Netflix, Channel 4 and more.

Kaylen is a dynamic actor and visionary filmmaker, whose immense talent was recognised when he was chosen as one of just five filmmakers to collaborate with John Boyega and Converse in 2022.
He wrote, directed, and starred in the resulting short film, 'The Healer', which garnered widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Kaylen also directed and produced the acclaimed BBC short documentary 'Naag Nool' that same year.
His commitment to creating impactful art that inspires and uplifts others sets him apart in the industry, and he continues to make a positive mark with every project he takes on.
Anthony Ray Caballero
Development Producer
Since graduating in English at Brunel University in 2019, Anthony has since worked in Scripted Development at NBCUniversal, and is currently a development assistant at Working Title Films.
He brings his passion for scripts to the forefront by writing short films identifiable by their plot twist endings.
